"I would 1000x rather have a board in the bike lane than a moped, motorcycle, or roller blader.  As long as the person is aware of their surroundings and doesnt make any unexpected moves (as I would also hope from other cyclists) I have no issue…"

Sunday 11/25/12 ride

Will be riding tomorrow from 9-12:30 to Ft. Sheridan.  Avg pace between 16-18 and sprints up ~30mph.  If anybody is interested give me a shout and we'll discuss departure site as I am somewhat flexible but am on the north side of Chicago.hope to hear from anyone still riding outdoors!See More

These fun, no frills fenders at http://ass-savers.com/ seem like a cool idea and I really like the nifty video, but how hard would they be to make at home? Anybody ever made anything like this?  Did it work/not work?  Stashing one of these under a saddle or in a bag seems like a handy alternative for those days when you dont happen to have your clip on fender and its pissing down cats and dogs..…See More

Playing with giant toys like bulldozers, front-end loaders, backhoes, scrapers, motor graders, shovels, derricks, large pumps, and air compressors can be fun.  With more jobs for operating engineers than qualified applicants, operating engineers report being happy.

Thanks for your comment! I know there are dutch bike shops in Chicago. We started with the export of a classic dutch bike brand named Union and I'm trying to see what's going on in several bike cities! We believe Copenhagen Cyclery could be a great partner for us.

Yes, my primary bike is an early 80's Schwinn Continental fixie conversion. I kind of love it, but it is a bit heavy. I'm casually looking around for something a bit lighter - but not so fancy as to be expensive - in other words another $50 or $100 old bike to convert. I also have an early 80's Trek 500 road bike which I use for the occasional tour or when the Schwinn is on the operating table or whatever.

re: my blurry icon, it says Waystn Cycles. But Hasty or Waysted or whatever would be funnier! The shop sticker if from the store the bike came from I guess. The sticker is long gone or I'd take a better shot of it. Here is a bit more info about the shop.
