Anybody know a good source of weather forecasts for LFT?

I ride everyday from Wilson to Grand on the LFT.  I'll stay off the path if it's really windy, particularly coming home at night.  Not thrilled about riding into the wind.  And over or under dressing…Continue

Wow. So much for my theory that people don't drive around with angle cutters to steal bikes.

Okay it happened and there is video.  I still think this is incredibly rare and the stats bear me out.  But I did issue a caveat that you shouldn't leave expensive bikes locked for more than an hour…Continue

"12-17-16 am It is a good and comfortable weather night to ride in like Friday's rush hour was. Light winds, high humidity, ~25 degrees. It may change and the weather fear mongers will probably be happy when it does get down to -25 below wind…"

Tonight's Ride on the LFP Was Everything I Love About Winter Biking!

Around mid day today I started hearing around my office how miserable the weather would be this evening once the snow started. Lots of sighs and swearing about Chicago weather.I was having drinks with several friends in River North after work and they suggested that I better be extra careful and think about putting my bike on the bus rather than ride home.My anxiety level was growing.Around 8 pm I headed down Grand to the LFP.  It  was sufficiently windy that I figured I'd take Dearborn north…See More

Last Night's Amusing Event on the LFP....

Coming home last night @10 pm from River North I almost decided to take Dearborn (North) but decided at the last minute to jump on the LFP at Oak. Turned out to be a brisk but beautiful ride home on a deserted LFP.Maybe 40 feet short of the parking entrance at North I see a small passenger car - clearly not CPD or Parks Dept - driving right at  me down the middle of the path. It was only going maybe 5-6 miles an hour so at first I wasn't terribly worried. When he saw me oncoming he thew the car…See More
