"I thought about doing something like this for Ingress a few years ago when it came out, but anything other than being on foot isn't really good since you had to stop a lot."

Tricolor replied to dauber's discussion LFT construction updates???
"Since the bridge itself didn't have an asphalt spray yesterday afternoon there was a little gap at each end so you could ride across and then back on to the grass. Someone on the work crew must have figured out what a bad idea closing the…"

"As nice as today's weather is with the wind the real test will be in October/November, and then see how well it handles being encased in ice all winter. "

Tricolor replied to Gene Tenner's discussion Portion of Lakefront Trail to be resurfaced over summer
"The portions seem to be starting from the north end working south a few hundred feet at a time. The entire section that's being worked on is fenced off and everyone needs to use the grass or the gravel verge where there is one."

Tricolor replied to Yasmeen's discussion Extending the 606 over the Chicago River?

"Oak Street's asphalt has completely trashed by the surf these last few days, which is hitting the retaining wall of Lake Shore Drive. Not as bad as it has been in the past, though the curve didn't tear apart that time, either: "

Yes sir, it's that time of year!  We have a friend in common who is set on coming along, so I'm content that I've at least got one companion.  I've done some route cleaning, upgraded my bags, gear, and tent, switched to solar power, made arrangements which should make the ride a bit cheaper, backed up the route to my phone, bought new tires, etc...  I'm going to stay in west Madison an extra day, so I won't be around to shepherd anyone home.  Also, all the bridges along the Glacial Drumlin have been completed, so bring your trail pass or you'll be reminded to get one!
