My husband, Rob, has fractured his ankle. Just in time for the summer riding season and fun things to do.  So, given the creativity and ingenuity of many of those on Chainlink, I am curious if anyone…Continue

Due to an injury, I will not be able to race by the time of May 12th. I was told that I could transfer my registration to another person to race in my place. So, if you would like to race a women's…Continue

Anyone ever break/bruise their tailbone and still ride their bike? Advice?

About a week and a half ago, I fell directly on my tailbone. It looked pretty bruised up and the pain is pretty bad after doing any activity- cycling and even walking. Silly me, I tried to ride my…Continue

"Sorry to hear about Nick's ankle and Rob really can relate how crappy it is, especially right at the start of summer.   As an update, we did find a handcycle available for him to use until he is better thanks to a kind-hearted chainlinker-…"

"We own a Madsen that another poster linked to above. The hauling capacity of the bike is just under 600lbs. We regularly haul 2-5 kids on the bike and both my husband and I have hauled other adults in the bucket. I'm not sure how easy it would…"

"JC Lind does carry great cargo bikes, but your husband would have an impossible time getting into and out of the bucket on a bucket bike.  We have a Yuba Mundo, and we met a lady who was also buying one to haul her husband on.  The Yuba…"

Profile Information

What I ride:
Road, Hybrid
The kind of riding I do:
Recreational, Exercise, Commuting, Distance, Around Town, Other
About me:
Sold my car and bought a bike in February during a snowstorm, as I despise public transit (unless there is no other alternative) and have been biking exclusively everywhere ever since. My husband and I have done some light touring and bike camping (around 50-60 miles) with my hybrid and his single speed. Looking to explore the world together. Oh, just purchased a 12 speed Schwinn Traveler- I really enjoy riding that right now. Finally bought the tour bikes- Novarra Safari and re-did my '85 Traveler as my daily commuter. I just like to bike.

Once I get the camera back from my boyfriend I hope to put a few more pics on this site- mainly those of us cycling or doing some bike-related activity. Until then, all I have are my bike locking pictures...btw, the bike I have does not lend itself well to locking the front wheel to the frame and another object, so I am very proud that I managed it that day.
