Join cycling pals this Sunday Feb 20th for a whimsical bike activism outing to "shutdown" the Chicago autoshow. Starts in Daley Plaza (50 W Washington, under the Picasso) after noon, then a social ride reaching McCormick Place (2301 S King Dr) by 1pm. There let's spread joy and inspiration about low-car living with costumes, cheers, conversations, free advice and demos. We'll be flyering for the next Saturday's Cycle Swap in Pulaski Park where consumers can trade up from cars to bikes. Promises photos and fun, and warm drinx somewhere after 3pm. Latecomers text ? to u@massup.us for updates.

Me and Jera, Steven and Ben, Todd and Gin were the 2011 Autoshow Shutdown squad.
I'm happy. This weather's challenging, and we probably lost some pals to recovery from the FBC and MM rides Fri/Sat.
The flyering was fun and effective (http://AutoshowShutdown.org/tradeup), and synergy with the Cycle Swap perfect (http://ActiveTrans.org/swap). I'm also happy with the slogans collection: http://www.thechainlink.org/forum/topics/slogans-1
Here's a photo of Jera cheering in the pedway ("Half the wheels, twice the fun!")

And I've pulled the start time an hour earlier if that's OK with everyone. Wouldn't give enough time for a ride there from Delay Plaza otherwise.
