Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

I believe its paved.  Although I remember one ride we had to find an alternate route since it was underwater (I believe we were in La Grange).

...and if it has melted, if trails will be a quagmire.

Is the Salt Creek Trail plowed?  Not sure if the snow will be melted by then...

Any other weekend would be good, but not this one.

Im thinking of riding to NW Indiana tomorrow morning from north side Chicago. Might be a bit of a slog against the wind but hopefully an easy ride home. I wont post an event, but if anyone would like to join me, send a PM.

If you head anywhere near Oak Park on Saturday, myself and possible others from the area would interested in joining.  Slainte!

Although I prefer riding on Saturday the forecast I saw favored Sunday: chance of snow lingers through 11a Saturday, and Sunday is 13F warmer.  Toying with NW Indiana if the weather pans out (e.g.: St Johns, Wild Rose, New Oberpfalz).
