"I wouldn't make a special trip there, but it is less than a mile from the Des Plaines River trail if you're in the area."

"It was massive.  While they had some of there own beer on tap, they had several dozen beers from other breweries and a full bar."

"Ended up riding Metra to Waukegan then riding south.  Hit up Only Child, Half Day Brewing and Prairie Kraft.  Rode Des Plaines River Trail most of the way, only one underpass in Lake County was flooded."

"This weekend is a warning date for bikes on Metra, so not sure about getting back.  If I was riding out somewhere I don't want to get stranded although I'm not sure how many people would be riding Metra to Lola at say 7 PM."

Metra warning for Lolapalooza

Good idea to use Metra tomorrow with a bike?  Says warning date, but no an all out blackout. Don't want to get stranded in the suburbs...See More

Jared replied to Skip Montanaro 14.5mi's discussion Cyclists face barriers in car-centric Chicago suburbs: study
"I think suburbs like Oak Park are much more pleasant to ride in than Chicago.  Side streets don't have nearly as many parked cars and the grid like system offers a lot of variety."

Jared replied to Lisa Sanzenbacher's discussion Midway to Avondale?
"If you want to add an extra mile or two there is a forest preserve north of 55, west of Harlem which will get you into Riverside from which you can take Riverside Drive through to Berwyn and then take side streets or Oak Park Ave or Ridgeland…"

"I did it last year.  You should be able to do 75% on trails.  The only higher traffic road you really have to deal with is route 32 north of Oak Creek."

This will be the 100th Full Moon Fiasco in Chicago! We plan to commemorate the occasion by attempting a Beer Century. If you don't know what that is then come find out! We'll need all the help we can get to finish. Not to be confused with an athletic endeavor, we meet for some drinks then ride to another dive. Meetup starting at 8, ride leaves sometime after 9.See More

Jared replied to Yasmeen's discussion Residents, Parking Spaces, & Bike Lanes - Why Do We Struggle So Much?
"As far as I can tell most of the street parking isn't even used, its mostly single family homes.  So not sure what the big deal is."
