Jared replied to David Beazley's discussion New Lake Bluff "Bike Path" sign
"Never had a problem with the trail and Lake Bluff maintains it better than most of the other towns along it.  Mostly used it on the weekends and it never seems particularly crowded."

Jared replied to Josh L.'s discussion Anybody know a good source of weather forecasts for LFT?
"On weather.com I get different temps for my ZIP Code (60625, Albany Park/Lincoln Square) than I do if I put in O'Hare.  I'd be curious where exactly those readings for both locations are being taken."

Not to be confused with an athletic endeavor, we meet  for a couple of drinks and ride to another dive somewhere with a park stop along the way.  Meet up at 8, ride at 9.  Destination is always TBA.  See you there.See More

Jared replied to Elwood Gruschow's discussion Bicycles on South Shore Line, Last Call
"I thought I'd use it more but only ended up using it twice.  I use Metra with my bike quite a bit but with the limited schedule and stops its just not that convenient.  If I ride to Hammond I probably want to ride more, East Chicago…"

We meet, eat, drink, socialize, ride,  and repeat...there will be a park stop, a surprise destination, and as usual, a great photo opportunity! As the cold weather has descended, and because we have not done so in a while, there is a good chance that the ride will head in the direction of warmer temperatures (or at least there is likely to be someone blowing hot air by the end of the evening). It is a weekend, so there could also be a bonus stop.See More

Chicago Perimeter Ride 2016 at Buckingham Fountain

October 1, 2016 all day
A clockwise day-long ride around the four corners of our fair city.  No pre-registration, no fees, no tyvec numbers, no support vehicles, no reason but to ride.We leave Buckingham Fountain at 9am and head South down the Lakeshore Path. We regroup briefly at the Southshore Cultural Center before continuing South on streets to Calumet Fisheries and Wolf Lake. Not a race, but not for beginning riders. We ride Critical Mass style with mutual support and no drops at a reasonable pace. An excellent…See More

Jared replied to Bob Kastigar's discussion The Chicago-Lincolnwood connection
"I actually rode the Des Plaines River Trail all the way to the end on Saturday.  Russell Road left a lot to be desired, no shoulder or paved shoulder in places."

Jared replied to Bob Kastigar's discussion The Chicago-Lincolnwood connection
"Amtrak does though.  Wish Metra did though, even stopping at all the stations it would be faster than going downtown from the northside and a fraction of the cost."
