Bike rack suggestion

Hi guys, newbie question on bike rack selection. I'm going to start commute to work by bike. Any thoughts on a bike rack that's not going to break my wallet? I'm looking at Topeak explorer bike rack from amazon (seems like one of the most popular choice on the site), also maybe a beam rack with quick release.I'm thinking of getting a quick release beam rack that allow me to remove the rack easily if I'm not commuting to work.
