Ride of Silence - May 18, 2016 - One day. One time. World wide.

Join the annual Ride of Silence, an organized annual cycling procession honoring those that have been injured or killed. The goal is to raise awareness that we are here, and to ask that we all share the road.

Save the date for the 2016 Chicago Ride Of Silence - May 18, 2016

Our route typically passes several Ghost Bikes, which are powerful memorials to fallen cyclists created by painting a bicycle white and placing it at or near the site of the cyclist’s death.

Thank you, Gary , for suggesting the Ghost Bike group.

We welcome any and all support from the cycling community in this request for help placing a ghost bike. All of our ghost bikes are the direct result of the community rallying together. Thank you!

Hi, I'm hoping for a little help. I was contacted this morning by Lindy Korner, widow of cyclist Joseph Korner who was bicycling north near 3559 North Lincoln in Lakeview when he was hit by a car. She is asking for my help to have a ghost bike built for her husband. Here's the background information: http://www.thechainlink.org/forum/topics/bicyclist-dies-more-than-a...

She reached out to Ride of Silence to request a ghost bike and hasn't heard back yet. I realize the group must be quite busy, could someone let me know what the best way is to start the process so that Lindy can have a memorial ghost bike set up for her husband? Much appreciated. Thank you.

We will plan to host one meeting per week leading up to this year's ROS on May 20. We will need to do an inventory and assess the condition of current ghost bikes, since our route typically passes several. No route has yet been determined. Please attend the meeting this week (see Tom A.K.'s comment below for details) if you would like to provide input and help with scouting possible routes. Thanks!
