Chicago Ride of Silence at Daley Plaza (gather)

May 21, 2014 from 5:30pm to 9pm
The Ride of Silence is a silent procession of bicyclists to honor those who have been killed or injured while bicycling on public roadways. We ride in silence on this one night each year in unity with cyclists around the world to silently assert our right to share the road. In Chicago AND communities worldwide (Including local suburbs...Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Crystal Lake, Downers Grove, Elk Grove Village, Elmhurst, Evanston, Geneva, Joliet, McHenry, Oak Lawn, Oak Park, etc) Free,…See More

About me:
The Ride of Silence is an organized annual cycling procession honoring those that have been injured or killed. The goal is to raise awareness that we are here, and to ask that we all share the road.

The Chicago Ride Of Silence will gather at the Eternal Flame in Daley Plaza on Wednesday, May 20, at 6:45 PM and depart at 7 PM. The 10-mile route is set to pass the sites of crash
victims. Many of the sites are marked by Ghost Bikes, which are powerful memorials to fallen cyclists created by painting a bicycle white and placing it at or near the site of the cyclist’s death.

Ride may follow the same route as last year... open to suggestions/ideas for alternate route and other ghost bike locations to visit.
Yes - we will keep with the Ghost Bike Theme.

Do you have an idea of which direction this year's ride will go?

Need to start prioritizing which new ghost bikes will be made and placed.

Assuming you intend to stick with the Ghost Bike theme.

Is there a chance it could go south?

Will have a way to display a 4 ft. banner either parallel or perpendicular to the flow of traffic. Will try to provide as much supplies as possible for displaying same.
