The Chainlink

Hi!

I just moved offices to 303 East Wacker (Lakeshore East area). I'm trying to figure out a good/enjoyable route from West Town. Plus, bike parking is on lower columbus & water- weird. Anyways, I was trying to research if there's a way to ride along the riverwalk. Are there any bike entrances or is it all stairs? Any suggestions on good routes to the building would be super awesome, as well!

Today I took Kinzie to Dearborn, but getting east from dearborn is where I get stuck.

Thanks and Happy Friday!

That area over there is crazy. I remember trying to visit someone who lived in Aqua and I got totally flummoxed on my bike, ended up carrying my bike up and down stairs, etc.

Someone may know about whether you ultimately will be able to do this on the riverwalk when construction is complete. As for now, my only advice is just to tool around on your bike a bit, maybe on a Sunday morning sometime, and look for a nice route. There aren't that many possibilities.

There is a ramp from the northeast corner of State and Wacker.  Take Kinzie to State and State to Wacker.  State is not a bad ride there.  The bridge is concrete.  Of course, this only works if State is not closed to traffic. :-(

There is an entrance on Lower (lower) Wacker at Field Blvd. just east of your office.  You can get there by riding through the Lake Shore East Park area from Randolph.  There may also be a way to bike there from Lower (mid) Wacker that I'm not familiar with.

From your office at Lower (mid) Columbus & Water, ride down the ramp to Lower (lower) Stetson.  Take a right, heading north.  At Lower (lower) Wacker, take another right, heading east.  The entrance will be on your left.

There's a ramp at the northeast corner of Wacker and Wabash.  And when you head east, there's a cut-through off the riverwalk that leads to the Lakeshore East complex
