You can find repop rims and tires at www.yellowjersey.org if you aren't too much into originality. BTW, worlds most popular bicycle design.

Decals I can help with, there's a gent in Thailand who's sitting on the mother-lode. They must be from a former contract dealer for Raleigh. They're water-based so can be a bit difficult in application. He's here at eBay but do check out his other i…

That looks like it, exactly. Now I just need to decide what to do with it... I have a feeling trying to find 28" rims and rod brake parts is going to be a futile and frustrating venture; I am thinking coaster brake 3spd with a drum brake/generator…

I would concur. I especially think it started its life as a rod-brake given the separate rear dropouts!

It looks to me as if it was at one time a Raleigh DL 1 also called a Tourist which is the "Bobbie Bike" in the England. I have one with the rod brakes etc.

Chaps & Chappettes! I was ambling by Uptown Bikes several days ago and spied some very nice British Steel for both the ladies and the gents, in good condition and at affordable prices! They're closed today but the rest of the time they're open: Mo…

So I broke down and now own a 'proper' British bike, and I don't even plan to try and weld another one to it! It's an unusual bike, allegedly a police model. Obviously stripped of most of the original parts and set up oddly (Shimano coaster 3spd…

Wow, Registan.net is an awesome find. There's a definite lack of info on the region. Half the time I google for 'stan travel info the results turn up my own site.

HA! We kept waiting for the plane to fill up; ended being there for almost a week. In the meantime,. a Rus' dentist, who got drunk with us one evening, offered to "install" a gold bicuspid %-{0>

Badakhshan was the most beautiful part in my opinion. I spent a few days in Khorog trying to find a car and then traveled along The Wakhan Corridor and back up through on the Highway to Murgab. I'd love to do that by bike so I could travel at my own pace instead of a driver pushing to go further. Most people think I made up the country "Tajikistan" when I mention it.

Absolutely! It was a surprsie to hear you'd been there as well - usually I get the quizzical look followed by "Where?" I'd enjoy trading travel stories sometime tho most of my Tajik experiences were limited to Badakhshan along the Afghan border...
