Midnight Marauders Subterranean 2016 at Billy Goat Tavern

August 20, 2016 at 11:45pm to August 21, 2016 at 7am
Folks, we're going to have to reschedule. New date to follow. Some of us are aware what this months Marauders ride is, but for those who aren’t, it’s the Subterranean. This is a tour of Chicago’s underground labyrinth of service roads and oddities, known only to city workers and messengers. But the Marauders know them better than both. There will probably be at least one section where you will have to carry your bike over obstacles. OK, maybe 2 or 3.  More details to follow.  See More

"Thank you to everyone that has replied and commented ! I really appreciated all of everyone's thoughts. I ended up with a Fuji Sportiff 1.0 LE, with disc brakes, and the 105s. The reason ? I walked in 2 weeks later and the price had gone down…"

"As far as modern bikes go, I have only had Tiagra and 105s. Though my 105s are on a bike that is a couple years newer, the Tiagra I had was not really a race type set up though I see the new Tiagras basically look like my 105s from last year so who…"

"I definitely prefer 105 over Tiagra. If the additional $$$ aren't an issue, definitely invest in a smoother experience."

"Horses for courses.  105 is a little nicer, but Tiagra is quite serviceable for commuting, etc.  I've used both and been happy with both."

John W. 6.3mi replied to We all have an inner Beast...'s discussion Which is better...105 or Tiagra ?
"105 for sure! More metal vs. plastic parts = more durable. I have never tried Tiagra but had Sora. I can't go below 105 now. Well, I got a 29er with sub105 components but that's different."

Irvin Steinert replied to We all have an inner Beast...'s discussion Which is better...105 or Tiagra ?
"I'm with you Bill. It's more about how the rider feels and not how the bike performs. Notice a difference? Yes, you would notice (riding the groupsets back to back). If you have to do that to know you if like the bike then what are you…"
