Lake front bike path Rising Buddhas

I finally stopped to take a pic of the 9 buddhas arranged in a circle along the lake front path just north of Fullerton. All of them are facing toward the circle center except the southernmost buddha, who is facing southwest toward the outer drive. It appears that particular buddha was placed that way deliberately, as those guys are not easy to move. The green sign in the lower right hand corner of the shot says nothing about their purpose. It's just a generic request asking people not to…See More

What a huge loss. I never knew anything about his struggles. Apparently, he was an avid bike rider. I know riding lifts my spirits. We lost a great and irreplaceable soul. We will miss you dearly, Robin.See More

Horts

Is it just me or have other people noticed the same thing? At least twice a week or so, when riding my bike along the lake front trail, I spot an empty Newport cigarette box somewhere along the way. When I was in college, I spoke with a guy who was living in a dorm where it turns out most everyone smoked Newports, so they decided to call themselves the Horts. One of the great enigmas in my life. Must be that menthol smoothness.See More
