"We got to test some early prototype models and they worked great, but we didn't use them for any extended periods. We also recently built a wheel with this hub for a fella who really loves it."

Comrade Cycles replied to Lanterne Rouge's discussion 'Best Priced 'Parts Swap' Labor From LBS?'
"Also, consider if all the components are in a decent shape for a direct swap. The majority of shops I know/have worked for can quote a fairly accurate labor rate for this type of job. "

Comrade Cycles replied to Lanterne Rouge's discussion 'Best Priced 'Parts Swap' Labor From LBS?'
"If all is compatible, I'd anticipate most shops would charge the price of a complete tune up."

Comrade Cycles replied to Uptown Joe's discussion 'North Shore Trails to Wisconsin... conditions?'
"I agree with Alex regarding no problems with the so-called, "shady characters." I  grew up along this stretch of the trail and rode it with regularity in my teen years. After making the move to Chicago I continued to ride it (on a…"

Comrade Cycles replied to El Dorado's discussion 'Most Dangerous Intersections.....'
"I personally don't mind the Fullerton/Damen/Elston intersection too much. The only times I've had much trobule are when I am in a rush to cross and/or attempt to squeeze through the congestion in order to be at the front of the line when…"

Comrade Cycles replied to Kevin C's discussion 'Comrade Cycles recovered another stolen bike!'
"This particular bike, or any that involve the police, probably wouldn't have been recovered without the serial number. Common situations that have led to stolen bikes being identified/recovered involve big (higher-end) bike and small rider,…"

Comrade Cycles replied to Melanie K's discussion 'Anyone have some ideas on how to haul a husband?'
"The idea has already been brought up, but this is what it looks like by trailer. Surprisingly easy and the passenger said he was plenty comfortable.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go7ogtXtBos"

Comrade Cycles replied to Kevin C's discussion 'Comrade Cycles may have recovered another stolen bike!'
"If folks remember to post to the registry it becomes easy to identify a bike that looks out of place. Post as many details about the bike as you can. There was another one brought in with this that wasn't on stolenbike, but more…"

Comrade Cycles replied to Alan Lloyd's discussion 'Blue City Cycles break-in'

Comrade Cycles replied to Pete's discussion 'Trying to find my racing bike manufacturer'

Comrade Cycles replied to Pete's discussion 'Trying to find my racing bike manufacturer'
"Good call Michael. Possibly a Raleigh made Rampar? They glued the headbadges. That seat stay/seat tube wrap is pretty distinctive. Although I can't say I've seen or noticed it on Rampar branded bikes."

Comrade Cycles replied to Pete's discussion 'Trying to find my racing bike manufacturer'
"I'm gonna agree with Mike. That looks very Raleigh Gran Sport or Gran Prix."

Comrade Cycles replied to Matt M.'s discussion 'Mississippi River Trail to Chicago?'
"I've done the ride from Chicago to the trail just outside of St. Louis. I can't recall the exact route, but would be happy to look back at old maps and notebooks if you'd like. "
