"For what it's worth, the wholesale price of a basic tube has nearly tripled in the last decade. The price most bike shops charge for tubes has (typically) less than doubled.
As for the comment about what bike shops charge for tube &…"
"To extend my response, we at Comrade have tried most all types of brakes to remedy this situation with little permanent solution outside of new cantilever posts on an old frame. There just ain't much room for adjustment while retaining proper…"
"Jesse at Comrade Cycles has plenty of experience brazing new canti posts on old frames built around 27" wheels. It ain't the cheapest, but it's by far the most effective solution. Stop by or call us @773-292-2522."
"The I&M was smooth from Willow Springs to Joliet, bumpy Joliet until Morris or so, nice Morris through Marseilles, & muddy and nasty Marseilles to Ottawa as of Sunday-Wednesday 3/31-4/3. Everything was ride-able, though some sections were…"
"I have an Endura branded Smartwool longsleeve base layer that I wear quite often without a wash, smell, or otherwise uncomfortable element. It was $85-90, but has been my sole winter commuting/training base layer for two seasons now. It is an…"
"Not actually "folding" bikes, but beautiful & efficient bikes nonetheless. Some did come apart like a bike with couplers, but they weren't hinged. Quite attactive and great riding bicycles; Mr. Moulton will be missed and…"
"Stans is great. Never leave home on tubulars without it. Also awesome for standard clinchers. Pasela TGs & Marathons are without a doubt the way to go with 27" wheels. Another great upgrade would be to an alloy…"
"Not necessarily Mr. Dug. Depends upon the model of SRAM. Only the 1:1 ratio shifter/derailleurs weren't compatible. The others were meant to work with Shimano. MRX stuff works for Shimano. Any SRAM #.0 stuff is 1:1 actuation and only works with…"
"The problem isn't finding the mechanic, but rather the parts. All this new and ever-changing technology simply isn't supported. If an overhaul is what you need it's certainly possible, however, if any parts are required I'd…"
"You guys seen the mural on the liquor store on Kedzie, just South of Lake?
I think the bike lanes on Franklin and Lake are great. I love the community gardens in Garfield Park, the park, and the conservatory. Y'all know about the greenhouse on…"
Hello Bailey, all is good with me. Enjoying live as usual. You living in Chicago now? Getting ready for Spring and riding season to really start. Have been doing the normal cross-training: Walking, snowshoeing out at Pets, lifting, kickboxing, swimming out in Lake Michigan in the dry suit and riding my Pugsley on the Mcclory bike path when it is nice out. The Bike shop is the only other shop open besides Ski and Sport Chalet in Kenosha. Southport closed a year ago. ABR road racing starts in a few weeks out by the power plant, no more Parkside course. Still go on all night night rides to the North Shore and Chicago. Busy week getting new tires on most of my bikes along with new chains and grips. Am I ever ready for warm weather. Were you working at? You still are wrenching I would think. See ya around, Jim.
hey bailey! so many thanks again, man. the crank is feeling 1000x more solid after taking those spacers off. btw, i looked into the hop up kit but i only found one or two that looked right. which one do you use?
