Swrve

Milwaukee ES Hooded Jacket ($150 MSRP)

Swrve describes the Milwaukee as their “workhorse” jacket and we tend to agree. Like the other Swrve pieces we’ve owned and loved, this fall/winter softshell has a rugged, durable feel to it. In other words, you don’t have to be afraid you’ll ruin it by throwing a loaded messenger bag over your shoulder and making it your “daily driver” for the next five months.

Features include a windproof/waterproof/breathable shell, a light fleece lining, a rear cargo pocket, front hand warmer pockets, pit zips and draft fighting double cuffs.

We kinda question SWRVE’s “winter” designation for this jacket in their marketing materials. This is because we’ve found that on its own, it’s a little under-insulated at temperatures below 40°F. We’d call it more of a fall/spring item. But thankfully, it’s cut to allow for layering. Therefore, when paired with the right pieces (we recommend SWRVE’s  “_blk Label” merino sweater and a quality down vest), this could be your trusty companion from October through February.

I own this jacket and find it way too hot in temps above 20. I wouldn't even consider wearing it in anything approaching 40 degrees.
