A word about spreading the word--this ride is for seasoned winter riders who've assembled their gear carefully over several seasons.

When are you planning to leave on Saturday? I cannot ride up on Friday but I am trying to make it work to be able to train it up and ride back. I don't think taking Metra to Kenosha and riding the rest of the way on Fricay night is going to work. Maybe, but I doubt it. This leaves sticking it in a box on Amtrak early on Saturday morning, but I don't think I could get there earlier than about 10AM.

Map 1 employs a number of trails. Map 2 is mostly Green Bay Road. Map 1 might not be the best idea, depending on snow cover. I also enjoyed Kevin's route from 2011's Frozen Snot ride.

Comment by David P. on February 12, 2013 at 4:14pm: The weekend of the 23rd works fine for me. I cannot take a Friday off, so depending on when the group leaves on Saturday, I could either take the train up on Friday night or do so on Saturday morning.
