It only took Ashley Jackson's friends a couple of weeks to lead police to the silver BMW they believe plowed into her bicycle on Highway 9 in
Saratoga last spring. Her fiance remembers seeing the big sedan stop
for a moment and then barrel away, leaving the 25-year-old college
student broken, bleeding and brain damaged.

I have specialized in brain injury rehabilitation so I am able to read between the lines a little better than most . . . "recovery" is a very relative term. The fact that they tracked this POS down and that there's at least some sort of consequence for him (the vast majority of hit-and-run drivers just go on with their lives) is a little consolation; I have learned to hope for the best and expect the worst in terms of legal consequences, but at the very least he's going to have to deal with this at least as long as it takes for the judge to note how sorry he is and sentence him to community service.

Clark, you shouldn't read that chit, it'll make you edgy and contentious.
Anson, I'm very sad to hear about your father.

I am glad they can locate the driver at fault and a chance to bring the criminal to justice. Let's hope she have a speedy recovery.

This news made me reflect back on how my dad got killed in a hit-n-run accident in Chinatown at the intersection of Archer/Cermak in the year 2000. He actually got hit by 2 cars supposedly according to witnesses. 1st one who hit him got away, and the 2nd one who hit him stopped at the scene. Lawyer tried to sue the 2nd car for 4 years, but still unsucessful because it still was caused by a 1st car. :(
Thanks for the reminder. Hope to meet you sometime soon.
Howard
