Permalink Reply by Adam Herstein (5.5 mi) on January 29, 2013 at 8:59am Lovely ride in this morning – no rain whatsoever. Windy, though. I brought all my rain gear.
Watch out this afternoon, though. The NWS issued a flood watch, so the streets could have a lot of standing water.

Permalink Reply by Tricolor on January 29, 2013 at 9:43am I looked at the radar this morning and saw Chicago was between two big patches of rain, but a big swath of rain and storms down in central Missouri looks like it will be coming this way later today and cross the whole city.
I don't mind falling snow like we should have tomorrow, but rain is no good. Hopefully this is the last day for a while where I take the train.

Permalink Reply by Tricolor on January 29, 2013 at 10:39am Rain's messy. Snow is pretty. Plus it doesn't soak my wool sweaters and I hate wearing plastics.
Mind you, I'm talking about falling snow, assuming the ground is wet and slippery in both cases. Fenders take care of that.

Permalink Reply by blair_ on January 29, 2013 at 1:15pm I'm with Adam. Rain won't keep me off my bike. But sometimes snow will.
Looks like we'll get a little bit of everything this week.
Permalink Reply by David Barish on January 29, 2013 at 1:20pm I suspect you will be happy with your decision on the way home.

Permalink Reply by Lisa Curcio 4.0 mi on January 29, 2013 at 2:04pm If we get that rain, I know I will. The last time we got heavy rain I did not have the rain gear and I was wet and unhappy when I got home!

Permalink Reply by MK on January 29, 2013 at 3:22pm Concur. Hate riding in the rain. Least favorite. Much prefer snowfall.
Rode this morning but will have to bus back due to flat tire! Was a sad sound mid way to work and I knew my fate then and there.
