Does anyone know if Chicago is participating in another tweed ride this spring?

Our comrades in PDX are doing one next month: looks capital!

May Day (or the closest Saturday) is typically the first Chicago tweed ride, followed by a seersucker ride sometime in the summer, a suburban ride called the Manor and Meadow in the early fall, the Guy Fawkes Ride on Nov. 5 (or the closest Saturday), and the winter Cozy Hearth ride. The BBC Chainlink group will usually be the first place information gets posted.

Yeah, if anyone is interested in helping plan one, join the BBC group and mention (link in Cameron's comment).

Was there a Cozy Hearth Ride this year or did I miss it?

I think we were all waiting for winter.

Indeedy! Just posted over at BBC. Let's give the jonesing masses what they want so who (and not the usual suspects) wants to help with a plane, theme, route, etc.?

I can't wait for the next tweed ride on my new bike! May will be here soon, are tweed plans brewing?

Where does one purchase tweed for this ride?  Can someone recommend a few second hard stores with a good selection?

Thrift store all over the city often have a variety of tweed available. Village Discount on Milwaukee often has some good (and hilarious) finds. Brown Elephant in Lakeview is pretty good as well.

Looking forward to seeing you all in your finery!

I recently picked up a Harris tweed jacket from the 50's specifically for this ride. So pumped.

There's mountains of tweed on EBAY.
