"Generally speaking, I'd say that my encounters with CTA bus drivers is good. I find that they respect cyclists for the most part. However, there are a few bad apples, such as this total d*ck. I'm approaching Hubbard on northbound Orleans…"

Argonne69 replied to Yasmeen's discussion Mayoral Candidates - Who Is Bike Savvy? Thoughts?
"Yeah, a little too quick on my part. The Chicagoland area has over 54,000 miles, but only 4000 or so within the city boundaries. There are ~280 miles of bike lanes, or roughly 6%."

Argonne69 replied to Brian's discussion Elston Protected Bike Lane--Zero Maintenance Zone
"The Washington St PBL was basically clear mid-block, but there were piles of snow near the intersections. I saw a city worker hand shoveling the snow this morning at Washington and LaSalle."

Argonne69 replied to Yasmeen's discussion Mayoral Candidates - Who Is Bike Savvy? Thoughts?
"There are over 50,000 miles of streets in Chicago, and less than 250 miles of bike lanes. If I'm a hammer, it's focused on a very small number of nails sticking out. I don't think it's asking too much for the city to a) provide…"

Argonne69 replied to Yasmeen's discussion Mayoral Candidates - Who Is Bike Savvy? Thoughts?
"So someone decided to pay $200 to $300 a month to park downtown because they couldn't be bothered to get dropped off and picked up across the street from the bike lane, or around the corner? Sorry, not buying it. The majority of violators…"

"'Almost forgot about this numbnut in the black Infinity on Friday who decided the best use of the Wells St bike lane was to use it to illegally pass several cars on the right over a stretch of 1 1/2 blocks. 311 report submitted."

Argonne69 replied to Yasmeen's discussion Mayoral Candidates - Who Is Bike Savvy? Thoughts?
"The money to maintain the bike lanes, and expand them, is lying on the pavement so to speak, but the city has done a half a** job of bending over and picking it up. I'm speaking about enforcing the no parking or stopping in bike lane law of…"

"I ride Divvy a fair amount. But with a twist. I try to do what I call my Divvy-Duathlon. Ride for a mile, dock, run for a mile, get a bike, ride, dock, run, get a bike...you get the idea. This is my commute to/fr work. The workout is excellent and…"

"My experience has been that many of my Divvys had too much air in the tires, causing an overly harsh ride on bumpy roads."
