Ghost Bikes burning up the mainstream media wires today

My inbox is getting bombarded with google alerts for this AP Ghost Bike article, which is propogating throughout mainstream media outlets today including Wall Street Journal in some form or other.  Haven't seen this before . . . . wondering what the backblow may be.
