A SE Wisconsin weekend trip could be cool. New Glarus, Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Mt. Horeb and Madision all have breweries. There's probably more...

Once everything opens, I'll do a Salt Creek Trail beer tour, with stops at Slapshot, Lunar and Church St. Brewing.

Short term: Dec 7 - Ride the I&M Canal and Centennial Trails from Joliet Metra to Buckledown Brewing in Lyons which opens its tap room the day before. Stop at the Tap House Grill in Lemont for Lunch on the way up. They have a great looking beer list. This is contingent upon me doing well on my exam the Monday prior (allowing me to skip the final) and dry weather. Dec 14 is another potential date.

Long term: I'm definitely down for a Madison area long weekend brew tour next spring! New Glarus here we come!

Yup Church Street is only open Thursdays and Fridays. They are open Nov 29 but I'll be studying for the before mentioned exam.

Looks like Flesk isn't open to the public. You'll have to work that magic to get us in Serge!

Should be on a weekday, because of the Church Street . . . And it probably should include Flesk.

Other plans have come up and even though it's a clear day I won't be able to lead a ride this Saturday. However I may be able to do a ride on Saturday Dec 14. It would conflict with Santa Rampage though.

If weather's good on Dec 14 is there any interest in riding the I&M Canal Trail from Joliet to Buckledown Brewing in Lyons stopping at Tap House Grill in Lemont?

December 7th might work for me.

How about a January ride to Temperance in Evanston?  Sounds like they should be opening fairly soon.

Unfortunately the weather isn't being very permitting. I'd be more up for this if I was confident that trails would be clear of snow and ice. I'll table this ride for the spring but going to take the Metra out to Buckledown one of these weekends for some hopefully tasty reconnaissance.

Switching gears to snowboarding now. I'll still go on any rides posted if I'm free. Looking forward to lots of New Glarus up in Wisconsin this winter!

I'd like to do that one of these days since I've never been on a proper brewery tour. But won't be able to make it this Saturday.

How about a short ride and a tour of the Lake Effect Brewing this Saturday?

2:30 p.m.

4727 W Montrose Ave, Chicago, IL 60641

$11.34 online.

I've had a few of their beers and I really like them! Enjoy!

That's fine, Rich, because I just found this morning that 18th Street Brewing is opening this Saturday at 4 p.m. It's a three minutes walk from the Southshore Line Miller station. The closest arrival to Miller is 2:44 p.m. (departs Millennium Station at 1:35 p.m.).

Next ride? New(ish) tap room in Evanston. http://temperancebeer.com/

We actually did this ride a few weeks ago.

D'oh. I was out of town. Maybe I'll go on my own then. :-)
