The Chainlink

I'm sorely tempted by these in-funding-stages crowd-sourced jeans:

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ryb-denim

After shipping and converting for CAD to USD, the "boutique" package comes to about $900 for 12 pairs of pants, aka $75 each aka much cheaper than the other options.  Are there any two (or even three) other women who would be interested in splitting an order with me?   My mother has a registered business number we can use (which is required for the boutique order)

Hopefully people say yes because I want these pants so much.  But I don't think I've ever paid more than $50 for a pair of jeans, and even that was a lot for me.

Sounds great to me. I'll friend you so we can work out details. Thank you so much for organizing!

More people were interested than I thought!  Final sizes don't need to be figured out until Feb or so, when the actual specifics of the order get placed.

There's going to be 12 pair total.  Because of the inherent risks involved with coordinating something like this, are ya'll happy with this pricing break down, since this is now more complicated than "divide it all by 3"?  I'll have to deal with finding times for people to come pick them up, or figure out when to go out and deliver them, etc.  1 pair on Indy Gogo is $130 + shipping, and the retail price will be $150 + shipping.  Hopefully this is a good compromise between fair pricing, and my hassle/risk?  Really hoping nobody backs out of three pairs haha.

1 Pair: $90 each

2 Pair: $85 each

3 Pair: $80 each

And so far we have:

Me: 3 pair

Michelle Loomis: 3 pair?

Susan W: Uncertain, depends upon sizing

Liz W. Durham: 1 pair

Jess dba Anhalt: 1 pair

Megan H: Uncertain

Trachea: Interested

Sarah D: 1 pair

Samantha Aquino: 1 pair

Soooo... I think the 12 pairs will be workable, and I won't be stuck with a ton extra?

I'm going to go ahead and put some money into funding, and we can figure out final order totals/sizing.  Looks like they hit their funding goal, woo!

Sounds good to me too. Count me in if you still need more people. Thank you for even posting. Awesome. Everyone benefits. 1 pair. Maybe 2 if they are awesome. I'm short 5"1. So if someone changes their mind about the order let me know. Great find Christine. Didn't know this existed.

I don't even ride in jeans anymore cause they kill my knees whether it's a long/short distance ride. I'll give these jeans a shot.

At this point count me in for 2 pairs.

Too late to get in on this? I've seen these and have been dying to get a pair.

Have you all seen the Novara Carrboro denim bike pants from REI? They're basically jeans but are stretchy and have articulated knees and reflective tape on the back pocks and around the cuffs. I have two pairs of them and LOVE THEM. They're $79.50.

(I also have two pairs of the capri version, which goes for $69.50.)

Sadly, the Carrboro pants have only a 31.5 inseam...just won't work for me.

Question though...is the crotch gusseted? I know it is reinforced but gusseted seems more important to my tender parts.

Oh, yes! I should've mentioned that! The crotch is gusseted and has a bit of padding as well. I have not experienced any chafing from wearing these jeans (whereas I immediately regret riding in other jeans).

Count me in! I'd be up for two pairs for sure.

Have these been ordered? And are there any left over? I just ripped my favorite biking jeans this morning :(

Ladies!  I need your sizes!  Plus a confirmation on how many pairs you want.  There's 9 pairs up for available (since I want three of the twelve for myself, bwahaha).

Here is the sizing chart:

Here is a video on how to measure yourself: http://vimeo.com/76008744

If you want, you could probably go a Nordstom or someplace and get measured?  I feel that's a thing they do.  But I don't know, I'm not that fancy.

I'm going to be friending everyone and sending out PMs requesting sizes.  Priority is a mixture of who RSVPed first, combined with who gives me a definite size and number of pants (1-3 pairs) desired.  So if you were one of the first ones to say you want it, but you don't get me a size until after Christmas... sorry :(  I know it's Thanksgiving week, so everyone is probably busy.   The order forms are being distributed now, and I'm planning to send in the order form on Monday or Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

If you previously said you were interested, but are no longer interested, please tell me!

Thanks, and I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving week!

And yes, they have been paid for; I just need sizing so they can be delivered in February-ish.

HEY! I am late to this party! But i heard about the Ryb Denim Jeans too.  They look awesome!
