What a great day to ride... until you hit Wells southbound from North Ave to Chicago Ave, that is! Ugh! Hope this project gets completed quickly...

Yeah, avoid Wells for a few days from North to Chicago.  I was too tired or lazy to go to a parallel street today and just went crawling slowly up the sidewalk... but tomorrow I'll do a parallel street....

Fortunately they had some of the northbound lane repaved by this evening, so it made for a very smooth ride from Chicago up to Division.  Almost made up for all the rattling between Division and North...

Nice.  I was afraid it was going to turn into Clark St all over again (I still have the tar on my bike from what seem like weeks long repaving project).  In the meantime, I'm taking Clark southbound and Dearborn northbound until I can cut back over to Clark.  Bike lanes on both.

This started last Monday btw.

We should be thrilled they are doing this..about time.

As someone else wrote, Clark is a viable alternative Southbound and Northbound  you might have to go to Dearborn if you don't want to take La Salle.

By the way Marc, the Clark project you reference was months, not weeks!  They did the sewers too so that added time. But Clark is wonderful now!  I don't believe they are doing the sewers on Wells from what I can see. If they do it will take much longer.

They've been doing the sewers for months on Wells.

East side of the street.
