The Chainlink

I was just curious about what time most of the bike commuters are out there.  Usually my ride to work is pretty deserted but I was up and out a couple of hours earlier than normal this morning and I was surprised by the increase in cyclists out there.

It seems there is a legitimate cycling rush hour, what time do you think that is?

I typically leave Skokie at 5am and then leave the UIC (medical district) for the return trip around 4-4:30pm.

7:40-8:15 and 4:30-5:05 Buena and Sheridan to State and Erie.

From Wicker Park to Loop 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and reverse 4:30 p.m. to 5:00.  A fair number of cyclists at both times

Ukrainian Village via lakeview to the south side of the loop between 7-8 and 5-6

I leave home no later than 6:30 AM to be in the loop by 7.  It's my first winter commuting and I have been pleasantly surprised to see at least 2 or 3 riders every morning on my way down Clark from Uptown.

Leave Berwyn @ 8:30 a.m.

Leave North Park @ 6:00 p.m.

Any time before 11am to go east on Washington through the West Side. Any time after 6pm to return along Grand/Armitage.

Logan Square -> River North around 8 am; reverse around 6 pm.

bucktown to river north. I'm on the road by 6:20am, ride back at 4:00. I usually see 1 or two other bikes in the morning, many more in the afternoon

I bike east on Diversey to the path, then down to 11th and back up to Michigan and Harrison.

I usually leave home around 8:30-45, and get to work around 9-9:15. I leave work around 5-5:30 most days.

Typically Glenview to Rogers Park, 6AM, reverse trip around 3:30P. Usually about the only riders i see in the AM are on training rides. Don't see many in the afternoon, but it's early yet.

Lakeview to Loop -> leave about 7:15a - I am of the 8 am crowd

Loop to Lakeview -> leave around 5:15p

*Not nearly as many now that it is cold out.
