I just tried to find the place on the Ragbrai website that lists the lottery winners and it just says it's open as of tomorrow.  How did you get your wrist band number?

Hey RAGBRAIers of 2011!! We are doing some training rides together before heading out to Iowa this year. If you are interested to join us, message me or post on here. The first organized ride is the Udder Century (June on the c-link calendar). Online registration is 22 bucks for early bird sign up.

One more thing, if you're a rye whiskey fan, like I've become, day 2 RAGBRAI rolls through Templeton, IA, home of my favorite rye, Templeton Rye.

Danger.

Hills?  In Iowa?  Well, relative to us, it is quite hilly although to those folks who ride in SoCal, the Iowa "hills" are not much more than pimples.

I like this route, ridden parts of it many times.  Good rollers, good towns.  Hopefully we'll have a tailwind for more than 20 minutes during the week.  I'm also hoping for a high heat index through the week just cause it was incredibly cold this winter.

Getting in and out of the river bottoms is fun.  Last time we went through Pilot Mound I know I hit 50mph coasting down to the river. Climbing out of the bottom land I wasn't quite that fast, obviously.

I am so ready for those hills. Moreover, because the ride hovers near I-80, there should be good cell phone reception all week. If you couldn't guess, I'm in a bar right now training for the ride as I write this!
