The Chainlink

Due to a medical condition that the scientist's call "being poor" I began doing bike deliveries after my 9-5 for Uber this week.  It wasn't bad. I made about $40 for 2 hours of pedaling.  The toughest part, physically, was the rough headwind on the way home.  It isn't something I could do every night, but my goal is twice a week and not when it's cooler than 40 degrees.  I didn't have to hustle to hard. My average speed was 10mph and I didn't take any bicycle-delivery-style traffic risks.

Glad you had a good experience. I would like to see more people doing this rather than using a car for deliveries. When I lived in Hyde Park I would often see the Jimmy John's delivery guy riding a bike; it gave me a warm feeling about Jimmy John's. :)

That sounds about right, dav. And really, just keep taking it easy on your mind and body, work slow and steady. After uber recently changed their payment structure (less money per trip/mile but the added time component), there really is no reason to push yourself/take risks. You wont make much more money by busting ass.

You don't have to be 'Freaky Fast' to make money for anyone else, ... except yourself.
