George Schick replied to Bike Lane Uprising's discussion Passenger of SUV blocking bike lane throws liquid on cyclists
"While I certainly have to agree about SUV's and the aggressive, discourteous attitudes their drivers have, from what I've witnessed on the streets and highways (either on a bike or in a car) those driving a certain German made car with a…"

George Schick replied to Bob Kastigar's discussion Rail Biking, anyone?
"I guess when you get to that age, with little else to do, anything looks like an adventure (I'm there).  But riding on rails where the roadbed has washed out underneath them, across shaky looking wooden trestles high enough to say hello to…"

George Schick replied to Steve Fiete's discussion Pedestrian Incident
"WGN aired a short segment on their evening news program last night, apparently something that was captured by security cameras. It showed a group of people slowly walking across a set of RR tracks while a Metra was bearing down on them. The lead…"

George Schick replied to Matt Talbert's discussion Performance Bike parent company declares bankruptcy
"Sad as news like this is (the shrinking number of LBS's) it should not come as a surprise - especially those with chains of stores nationally. Brick-And-Mortar retail is facing stiff competition from Internet-based sources and has been for some…"

George Schick replied to John Dow's discussion hitch or rack?
"Yes, it is a 1.25" hitch and, yes you'd need an adapter to fit most standard Reese-type hitch trailer mounts."

George Schick replied to John Dow's discussion hitch or rack?
"If you've been persuaded to buy a hitch rack based on the positive responses to your post and you don't want to shell out full price for a new one, I have one I can sell you for a reasonable price.  It's Saris, ca. 2002-2003…"

George Schick replied to Matt Talbert's discussion I've had it with the right hook
"Is this one of those instances where the cyclist would have been better off to have taken the regular traffic lane as he approached the intersection instead of staying in the bike lane, never minding what the encroaching motorists might've…"

George Schick replied to Matt Talbert's discussion I've had it with the right hook
"A little over a month ago I was getting ready to cross a busy, major IL highway at a "T" intersection where a MUP crosses the road in a suburb.  The "walk" sign changed so it was all go.  Then, I heard a lot of honking.…"

George Schick replied to Yasmeen's discussion "Avid Cyclist" hehehe
"Yep.  There's no greater irony than to be cut off or sworn at by someone driving a big SUV with a bike rack on the back, loaded with high-end bicycles.  Avid cyclist, indeed!"

George Schick replied to dav's discussion Is There A Word For This?
"Let me see.  If I understand the OP correctly, this cyclist is slowly creeping into cross traffic lanes before the light changes (presumably so they don't have to clip-out of the pedals) so he/she can either get struck by some wild yahoo…"
