Bike Week & Active Trans Commuter Challenge Events!

Active Trans expanded the Commuter Challenge to two whole weeks. Since it's such a great time of year to ride your bike, we think this is a brilliant idea. To make the two weeks more festive, we've packed the calendar with a lot of fun things to do:

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Scavenger Hunt at 5:30 pm

Join us for an evening of 80's fun while mobilizing individuals and communities in rural Africa through the #PowerofBicycles! The Scavenger Hunt Benefits World Bicycle Relief. There will be 5 stops around downtown that are reminiscent of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Teams of 2 will participate by completing activities at the 5 stops (no speed contest, this will be focused on bike safety!). Teams encouraged to dress in their best 80's style and compete for "best dressed". The event will end at a bar downtown for Chainlink Bar Night with a raffle for participants that finished with all five checkpoints completed. Find your favorite 80's outfit and start practicing your "Twist & Shout" and "Danke Schoen"!

Everyone is invited to meet up, enjoy food and drink, and watch the end of the Ferris Bueller Scavenger Hunt. This will be the location of the raffle and the end location of the scavenger hunt.

Pedal to Pastry: Cellar Door Provisions at 8 am

We'll meet on Damen at Perfect Blend and take a short (less than 5 miles) and easy-paced bike ride down to Cellar Door Provisions at 3025 W. Diversey Avenue to experience one of the best pastry shops in the city (Top ten by Eater Chicago). They also serve coffee and other drinks. Once we've enjoyed the pastries, we'll ride back North, back towards Perfect Cup.
