Rosh Ride (BYOBreadcrumbs)) at NW corner of Lawrence Ave & the Chicago River.

September 16, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm
Jews and Gentiles alike, Greet the Jewish new year (Rosh Hashanah), casting your bread upon the waters of the Chicago River just before sunset, followed by northward roll along the north branch. Not that anyone cares exactly what you do, but traditionally you would have breadcrumbs in your pockets that you would toss on the river, symbolizing a throwing away of the past year's mistakes, regrets, and indiscretions- sort of an autumn cleaning of the soul.Ps- if it's raining- we won't be there.See More

Dreidel Rampage at Twisted Spoke

December 18, 2010 from 12pm to 4pm
Dozens of inebriated Dreidels spread holiday cheer and revolution in the central shopping district. No half-a**ed outfits-- full Dreidel regalia STRICTLY enforced. Fully costumed elves, santas and grinches grudgingly allowed. Beware of bogus Rampages with overweight men dressed in red and white.Don't have a dreidel costume? Oy! Well, don't kvetch! Contact Dr. Dreidel for costume tips. Here are photos…See More

Halloween, of course... My friend Emily got off the plane at noon and we promptly started work on our respective head wounds and decay. But, I'll take the "biked-over" bit as a complement. :)
