Has anyone seen these around town? I saw this one on Clark at Randolph this morning (11/2/17). This is the first I've seen. Are they going to be competition for Divvy? I was on my own bike so I…Continue

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but while riding on Pratt last week, I came across what looked to be a new trail that runs NE-SW between McCormick and Crawford. It doesn't show up on…Continue

"Just back from Seattle. Nice trip, but mostly work-centric. It made me really appreciate the flatness of Chicago, but the e-bikes certainly helped. I stayed downtown, and the inclines from the bay are very steep. I was only able to explore outside…"

"They are starting on Northerly Island plan 2019.  I think all of the south part of the island is closed. (August 15, 2019)  The sidewalk slabs on the east leg are crushed and the west loop entrance is fenced off.  I rode into the…"

Biking in Seattle

I'll be visiting Seattle for work next week (8/11-17/2019) and was wondering if anyone had any advice or suggestions. I assume it's much more hilly than Chicago.I'll be staying downtown near Pike Place and will rely on either a hotel bike or one of the bike shares.  I think they have 3 or 4 now, with e-bikes.My free time will mainly be in the morning or late night.ThanksSee More

"Yes, the problem is the flow of water through sand under the sidewalk.  The accent is on flow.  The same lake front barrier was on Miegs field and there was never a wash out problem.  I am referring to the pilings and crib shoring…"

"Yep that's right, and the path runs along the top of that berm.  Some engineers skip the basin, and would just put a wall on the lake side of the berm to strengthen it.  Which version makes more sense depends a little on the scale and…"
