Hey all - Ride Info is up.  Saturday April 28th at Welles Park Gazebo at 10 am with Alderman Pawar!  Bike Ambassadors will be there, On The Route Bikes will help with minor adjustments, and hopefully we will have bagels, coffee and a kids bike band!

Because some folks can't get chainlink at work and/or prefer email w/o having to "reply-all" there is now an email discussion list for those interested in helping plan and grow the Kidical Mass rides. Subscribe at:
http://lists.chicagokidicalmass.org/listinfo.cgi/list-chicagokidica...

If you do subscribe, send a hello email so we know you're "in the room."

Also, at our meeting earlier this month, we decided to have a crafting event to make flags and T-shirts in time for the June 11 ride. See http://www.thechainlink.org/events/kidical-mass-6  or https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=132902850120911

I'll be at Monday's meeting.  For those interested in coming but unable to, please post your thoughts here.  I'll do my best to take notes and post a summary here.

Who can attend a meeting at Karen and Kevin's, this coming Monday, May 9th and 8pm? 3314 W. Belden. There has been talk about having a meeting to start planning out some future rides, discuss pacing (how do we meet the needs of little and big kids), etc. Also, through Break the Gridlock, the non profit board I serve on, I was able to secure some funding for Kidical Mass promotion efforts (about $1750 for stickers, vests, print materials, web development, etc).

Meeting topics (it's not likely that we will be able to discuss all of these on Monday, but it's a start)

  • Ride Guidelines
  • Route (or at least destination) planning for the summer/fall
  • The question of big and little riders
  • Expanding to other neighborhoods/communities
  • Communications (for planning and for outreach, inc stickers, T-shirt, web, posters)
  • Grant money

Hello, how wonderful! folks. You are eager to enjoy riding together, right? I can't join there easily. However, I am impressed by your activities. By the way, I also have a good news. I have ordered a new 20 inches for my elder daughter tonight. We will go out together soon. I will write about it on my blog. Thank you for reading.
