No doubt! You should definitely have stayed! It's their lack of signal or apparently even looking that caused the accident. Sorry to hear that shtuff. It's good that you're alright though.

F that, Chris you gotta stand your ground. They could have killed you and you should never leave the scene. That was a traffic accident, and i would have been trying to get them to pay for my bike...

Hi Glenn, if you would like something custom or semi-custom or simply a fixie other than a typical off-the-shelf ride, I'd suggest Yojimbo's. My shop, which is a bit closer to you, also specializes in this area.

Hi again everyone. Thanks for all of your suggestions. Norm, I live in the South Side of Chicago (Beverly/Morgan Park area). I will make it a point to get to Mike's shop though, armed with a little info from Sheldon's site. Thanks again all.

+1 on sheldon's site. Then get on CL and hunt down parts. (I'm assuming you do basic maintenance on your road bike, and aren't afraid of turning a wrench)

Glenn, if you haven't seen it already, the late Sheldon Brown's webpage on fixed gears would be a great place to start.
