The Chainlink

I spent a bunch of hours picking and processing gooseberries last summer, and they're in the freezer. Thinking I should get on doing something with them before they taste like freezer.

Any suggestions/tips? I was going to try to make pies with pre-made pie-shells.  Can't remember how to prepare the . . .  is it called compot maybe?
