22nd WARD RESIDENTS: Want Greenways in Little Village? Your vote can make it happen!

Neighborhood Greenways are on the 2014 Participatory Budgeting for the 22nd Ward! One of the transit committee's proposals is for Neighborhood Greenway improvements to the following streets in Little Village:

+ 28th from Keeler to Kedzie

+ 30th from Keeler to Spaulding

The Project Expo is today at Little Village Lawndale High School. Come out to learn about this and other committee's proposals! If you can't make it tonight, don't fret! Visit the People's Budget 22 page on Facebook for updates, but most importantly..

VOTE and SPREAD the word!

Pilsen/Little Village Bicycle Alliance charter meeting Sunday 2/23/14 4 PM

Greetings Pilsen/Little Village cyclists!

Please consider yourself invited and encouraged to attend the inaugural meeting of the Pilsen/Little Village bicycle alliance, this Sunday from 4 to 5:30 PM at Harbee's Tavern, 1345 W 18th Street (quiet back room.)*

The purpose of the meeting is twofold:

1) To see who's interested in having an active organization (PLVBA or whatever you'd like to name it) to work long-term for better conditions for cyclists in our part of town, and what sort of vision we may collectively have.
A possible mission/purpose of such an organization can be viewed here:
http://bikechicago.info/PLVBA/

2) To give Maggie Melin of Active Transportation Alliance opportunity to introduce a new City of Chicago walking/biking/transit initiative called "Go Pilsen."

No RSVP necessary but it would be good to get an idea of who's hoping to attend-- let me know individually or per phone/text at 773 710-4143.

If you'd like to attend to talk about your own initiative, get petitions signed, etc. I'd definitely prefer that you got in touch first.

Thanks!

Reminder-- meeting tomorrow 5:30!

If you live in the area please try to make this meeting-- I don't know for sure, but suspect the majority of attendees will be there to complain about the bike lane.

I've been talking to some of the organizers of this ride. Anybody want to make it happen here? I know some of you have already mentioned you were interested in it, but for those that don't have much info, take a look at the about and rules section if the website.

I passed what appeared to be a group bicycle ride on 18th near Oakley one weekend night a few months ago... someone was I think on a trike with a sound system. Buncha young-uns, all latino.

Anyone know who the sound system guy might have been? I'm at the point where I want to get rid of all my equipment (and there's a =lot= of it) but only interested in it being used for bicycle systems.

Thanks, Genaro.

The comments are completely depressing.
