The Ghost Bikes that will be visited during the 2017 Chicago Ride of Silence has been posted in this route map.

"She says that she often sees the mother of Lisa Kuivinen, an art student who was fatally struck on her bike this summer by a right-turning truck driver who failed to yield, kneeling with a rosary by the “ghost bike” memorial to her daughter at the Milwaukee/Racine crash site.

She lives in the suburbs but is out there day and night, several times a week, and has been since her only child was run over and killed by a truck driver. I stopped to talk with her one night and she said she is praying for her daughter, she is praying for the truck driver, and she is praying for the safety of all the people riding their bikes in Chicago. I hope we can honor her daughter and work to make our streets safer."

Linsay Bayley reports the regular sighting of Lisa's mom praying at her memorial site. If you ever see her there and you have time, please give her a kind word and thank her.

I've added Jezniah (Jay) Smith to the Ghost Bikes Chicago reference.

https://bedno.com/body/ghostbikes/details/jezniah

Map and details on all 19 believed currently standing: https://bedno.com/ghostbikes

ALSO: Those interested in Chicago Ghost Bikes should join the new page at http://facebook.com/ChicagoGhostBikes

Or use the shortcut: http://ChicagoGhostBikes.com

The last several installations were coordinated from there.

That effort's new champion, Kristen Green, would welcome help, especially in money for paint and chain.

StreetsblogChicago has reported that someone stole Tyler Fabeck's memorial at Western and Logan, then tried to sell it for $200 on 'Chicago Bike Selling'. SAD. . . .

Mary, it may seem to be the case, but right now there is only currently construction across from where Tyler's bike once stood. That area is the railroad responsibility and no work is occuring there now. My message here on 8-9-16 at 4:30am was that it was cut loose and leaning on the railway wall. It's fate unknown. As CRoS has stated, some bikes need to be replaced and/or renewed in the upcoming months. With this, and recent events, a lot of assistance from this group and the community will be needed.

I passed by Western/Logan this morning and didn't see Tyler's bike. I thought maybe the city took it down because of construction. Anyone know what happens to it if that's the case?
