Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Routes on Ride with GPS, here.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Up-to-date map (with a list, postal- and web-addresses and phone numbers, where available). Five hundred thirty (530!) so far.

Even though the route isn't finished...

If anyone wants to join me for this Saturday For River valley breweries ride, lets take UP-W Metra out of OTC at 8:40 a.m. Meet at the station at 8:15.

I haven't finalized the route yet. But I'm sure you can take Metra back out of Aurora at 3:20 p.m. (arrives 4:23). Or out of Geneva at 2:37, which arrives 3:50.

Thanks, Mark! Fun and safe ride to you, too.

You probably know that, but just in case: the I&MC trail peters out west of Seneca. That is, if you're planning to take that route.

Would be nice to re-visit 'em, but not this Sunday.

By the way, there's another brewery in MC opened since I've been there last time: Zorn.
