Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Routes on Ride with GPS, here.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

It's not often you can get 5 beers rated 100 (Permanent Funeral, Dreadnaught, Arctic Panzer Wolf, Alpha King, and Zombie Dust) on tap!

can you get away tomorrow afternoon? if so, join me at 3 at local option for rare and evil offerings from Cantillon (Belgium), Prairie (Oklahoma), Struise (Belgium), The Monarchy (Germany), Scratch (Ava, IL), and themselves (Top Fuel, a barley wine aged on Four Roses barrels).

Supposedly South Shore might start allowing bikes, probably best to hold out until then.
