Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Routes on Ride with GPS, here.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Serge, I'm 50/50 to ride with you Saturday so don't put too much weight on my vote. That being said I'd prefer Crystal Lake and then ride south especially since I haven't visited Crystal Lake or Scorched Earth breweries. Plus I really like Penrose! However I was on the Fox River Trail this past Saturday and the trail was closed in a number of places due to trees and power lines being down. Especially around Elgin. Detours weren't a big deal but drivers weren't giving a lot of room.

Serge I might be able to ride on the 13th. I have tickets for Riotfest on the 14th so won't be able to make it that Sunday.

8th Step Ride this Saturday? Don't see it on the calendar but I'm thinking of riding down to 3 Floyd's Saturday just because I haven't been there in while.
