I felt it necessary to change the name of the Tweed Ride from Queen's to Winston's. Kathy Schubert does a Queen's Ride later in the summer to celebrate Queen Liz II's visit to Chicago!

My hat is off to the Right Honorable Lee Diamond for his contributions to The Queen's Twee Ride!

Lee, Aaron, & I are riding the Queen's Tweed route today. So I should have final details soon! In the meantime, enjoy Cyclists Special (1955) - A British Transport Films account of an earlier generation of tweed cyclists.

The Norman Rockwell of classic British bike touring!

The proposed route doesn't include "Simon's" (5210 N. Clark St.) or the "Edgewater Lounge" (5600 N. Ashland Ave.) after the "Green Mill Cocktail Lounge" (4802 N. Broadway St.), yet it seemed to have all t'others on the north side?

And how about a mad 10-11 mile dash down to "Schaller's Pump" (3714 S. Halstead St.) for the south-siders as the end?

PS: www.williamolive.com/temp/Spitfire.pps, but be aware that some may take offence!

Lee!

Would love to ride the route but rest of the week is out due to part-time work. Can't wait! We've been getting a lot of interest in the Queen's Tweed!

Reminds me of the Bronx Courthouse
