Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)
My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.
Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane
With popular hashtags:
#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)
#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.
We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

In addition to the fine provided in Section 9-4-025 of this Code, any vehicle parked in violation of this section shall be subject to an immediate tow and removal to a city vehicle pound or authorized garage.
Reads well, sounds like it means business. Rarely, if ever, enforced.
I'm fairly certain that applies to most traffic laws, if not all laws. Ever see someone getting a ticket while smoking next to a building entrance? Yeah, didn't think so.
I try not to be too cynical. It's hard these days!
OK, I thought I've heard of everything, but apparently not. I was riding south on Wells St this morning, and encountered a beer truck illegally double parked in the shared bike lane just south of Wacker Dr. As I was videoing the back of the truck I looked over to the sidewalk and saw a parking enforcement aide walking along with her ticketbook. I rode over to her and asked her if she would kindly ticket the illegally parked truck. She said that she couldn't because they issued new ticket books, and they don't have a checkbox for vehicles parked in the bike lane. I said, "What about double parking?" She said nope.
Seriously, WTF. Who designs a ticket book that doesn't include the common parking related offenses on it?
Holy sh!t. That is a prime contender for the "Not My Job" award. SMFH
Was it actually city of Chicago enforcement or Laz enforcement???
Ha ha Argonne! Now you're getting the message: No one in Chicago cares about Bike Lanes! This morning I just paid a $550 fine to the City because the lid on my dumpster was more than 6" open back on the alley. The City CAN hand out fines, big ones, if it wants to do so.
But the City couldn't care less about those bike lanes! All your pictures and posts are 'whistling in the wind!' No one cares. And secondarily, beer is the lifeblood of Chicago! And the cops aren't going to impede it's timely delivery!
STOP THE INSANITY! NO MORE BIKE LANES!
