The Chainlink

Is anyone out there as crazy as I am and training for a half Ironman?  I'm doing the Steelhead 70.3 in July and want someone to train with.  I have motivation problems getting myself out there for long runs or long bike rides by myself.  Anyone want to join me?

Even if you're not into triathlons, I am always looking for someone to go on long bike rides with me.  And I have quite a few ahead of me in my training.

Let me know :-)

I am always up for long rides, I average 2-3 30-50 mile and at least one 70+ mile ride a week. I live in the Lincoln Square area... do you train on a tri bike or a normal road bike?
I'm riding a Giant OCR 3 road bike. Don't have the money to get anything fancy for the tris. some 50 mile rides sound great! I live in the Uptown area.

Depending on when you ride , I might be up for some long rides. When do you go on rides and for how long? You should also look at the rides page at chicago bike racing, there's a variety of rides there at different times and speeds.

I definently am up for long rides but also lack the motivational skills i work nights in restaurants i ride late at night except for sundays and mondays. i live in west town.

also - chicago triathlon club has lots of group runs/rides/swims (when the lake warms up).

I did triathlon for14 years; and it is very motivating (and you get faster) when you run with runners/swim with swimmers/bike with bike geeks, etc.

I am doing lots of long rides this summer too (going to focus on bike racing) and the pick up rides
group thread is good.

p.s. Ohio Street Beach is a great resource when it gets warmer - you can use it as a transition area.
best wishes...

I also live in Uptown and love going for long rides so let me know if you ever want to hook up during the week or on weekends. I have a fairly flexible random schedule with Saturday mornings being one of my few can't ride cuz I'm working days. I live at Leland and Sheridan. me@iammatt.com

looks like it is going to be a great day tomorrow, who is up for a nice ride? I have to be at work at 4pm so I am up for anything up to 60 miles if we start by 8am
