Anyone know why the removed the plastic bollards on Halsted between Chicago and Division? Does it have something to do with the fact that the Chicago Ave. bridge is now re-opened? I'm not sure why they wouldn't just leave these. Even though cars would still drive in the bus/bike only lane with the bollards installed, I have to think that removing them will only worsen the problem.

Snow Plows?

I don't think this is the case, simply because they were still there a few weeks back when we got all that awful snow. I suspect it has something to do with the bridge, but it doesn't really make sense to me.

Worth a call to the alderman?

That's a good question. Both times that I've taken that route since the bus re-routing there has been a huge back up because of car accidents with buses-- perhaps related?

I rode Halsted a few days ago and they were there. Maybe they want more traffic racing towards Division after Superior to become a one lane road again?

Everyone knows that getting 3 car lengths ahead will get you to your destination 30 seconds faster than everyone else.

It was just a pilot project. There's a survey active trans tweeted out
