New to the area looking for touring buds

Hello all,

I just moved here with my family from Kansas City. I've done quite a bit of touring in Missouri and eastern KS. I'd love to hook up with some people this spring.. not sure if there are any groups here. And I'm out in the burbs unfortunately - Glendale Heights. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not new to the area but I am new to touring and would like to do some of it myself. I'm in the middle of building myself a rando-type bike and hope to put on some miles this year.

Ultra-lightweight tent-camping (bikepacking) on a bicycle sounds like an awesome fun activity to me. Credit-card camping seems like it might be outside of my budget most of the time but does sound like fun too.

I generally take my gear with me, although I've cc toured once or twice. I've got a surly lht with racks and such... Not exactly light or fast with my 26 tires. Is the elmhurst club for hammerheads? Looking to take the ipp to the fox and then up to Wisconsin in the spring if anyone wants to roll with me.
