So, my new frame is threadless, my old threaded rigid. I'm planning rigid w/disk for the new. (Building up a new commuter.)

The thing is the frames line up almost exactly, including head tube length, and the only rigid disc forks i can find are "suspension corrected."

What's the down side of pushing my head tube up another 4cm or so? Will it handle badly?

I have plenty of space for the jewels (pardon me: "stand over height) and a pretty high rise on my stem now, so that shouldn't be a prob.

Pushing the headtube up by 4cm will make the headtube angle slacker, this in turn(if I understood you right)should decrease the responsiveness. 4cm is not a small margin to be playing around with. On the otherhand there are no such things as threaded or threadless frames but there are threaded and threadless forks. Usually a frame will either be 1" or 1-1/8" headtube and you should be able to find both threaded and threadless forks to go with either dimension.

I assume you're looking for a 395mm axle to crown MTB fork like this one? If so, your LBS can easily order one or you can just buy online. Otherwise, like Ali says, the handling will change significantly.
Perfect! I've done a lot of on-line searching w/o finding this one. It's right in the same price range I was looking at as well.

Well, one final note: on more careful alignment, when i match the head ANGLE, not just the height, it looks like the suspension corrected fork is prob. the better match.

Thanks all.
