How do you all manage the straps on your helmet?  On mine, the main ones that set the length loosen up over time, and the other ones that form the triangles move around too.  My head isn't really changing size, so is there any reason to not sew them or something, to make the fit permanent?

Due to day-to-day use, resistance force stress causes the straps to come out of adjustment. Sweat may also help add to misadjustment because it acts as a sort of lubricant. It is normal to occasionally readjust your helmet straps to the proper fit. I don't think it would be wise to sew the straps to size because of seasonal conditions mentioned in the reply above. I adjust the straps on mine every so often. No biggie.

Although I've never done it, I've had friends use (color coordinated, for the most part) duct tape to help keep the straps in place. I've been told it work pretty well and if adjustments are needed, just a simple "snip snip" and the tape comes off easily for those adjustments.

:~)
