The construction of the three trail bridges in Lombard is scheduled to end in the next 30 days. No detour is required since these bridges replace existing ground-level crossings at St. Charles Rd, Grace Street and the railroad tracks.

The flyover bridges are complete in Lombard. It was a beautiful thing crossing over a slow freight train and St. Charles Road on my ride today. The path was smooth and fast from County Farm back to the IPP.

Has anyone been recently on the trail close to Sycamore? Is it passable?

A new route through West Chicago coming very soon. Way easier than the other routes.

Great Western Trail Extension:

The Great Western Trail, which currently terminates at the Illinois Prairie Path's Elgin Branch, is being extended to the end of the County's right of way at Sassafras Drive in West Chicago.

Current Status:

The trail is breaking ground and construction is expected to be completed by October of 2018.
