Thank you Rahm.  Our bike friendly mayor removed the bike racks in the protected drop off area at the far east end of Navy Pier.  The only bike racks out east on Navy Pier are at WBEZ, which were over half full on a week day in March, 2015.

You should still be able to ride on the north side of the pier.  That is where the access to bicycle parking exists by WBEZ and is now missing further east.

Nope, the north side is closed to. I suspect its one of the reasons for the disappearing bike racks.

"To me, this is one of the instances where a great, independent, bicycle advocacy group could really be beneficial to getting this new policy changed."

I'll second that idea.  Chicago needs a strong bicycle advocacy group.

ha, just tell the guard you're going to WBEZ, and the north side of the pier magically opens to bicycle traffic.  Green Fest is taking this year off, but I'm sure World Music Festival Chicago will be back this fall.  That's one reason to ride to Navy Pier.
